ARCHIMERA

The Archimera civic association was founded by students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava in 2007. Five years ago, they started to publish books. They used it as the opportunity to draw attention to research projects that they implement in the association, especially in relation to architecture of the second mid-20th century.

Bratislava Modern Fountains

The book Bratislava Modern Fountains maps the city's fountains built between 1960 and 1990. In addition to the iconic ones such as the Družba fountain or the Vejárová fountain, the publication presents dozens of small abandoned fountains that are mostly unknown or known only to residents of housing estates. Architecture theorist Martin Zaiček, graphic artist Katarína Knežníková and photographer Andrea Kalinová in a creative tandem interpret and record the current state and quality of Bratislava's fountains. Through the author's manuscript, they reveal the poetics and the "other" side of well-known and lesser-known works.
