In the last issue of 2024, you will find interviews with Katarína Plačková, who won the Special Award of the Slovak Design Center as a partner of the New European Bauhaus initiative in Slovakia, and Robert Finkei, whose design works are richly represented at the NCD´24 exhibition. Designum was this year's media partner of the Bratislava Design Week festival - an interview with curator Damián Cehlárik sheds light on his author's concept. In the Museums section, you can read an article about the jubilee glass artist Štěpán Pal. In the Retrospectives section, the authors included a review of the exhibitions of Vladimír Dedeček's architectural work, which are currently held at the SNG.

In the Retrospective section, Klára Prešnajderová reviews the exhibition Are We Living Humanly? The Union of Czechoslovak Works 1914 – 1948, which was held at the Museum of Applied Arts in Prague. There is a new exhibition at the SNG called Design in a Cube – Jana Oravcová talks with its curators Viera Kleinová and Jana Švantnerová about their curatorial intention, but also the collection fund. The issue also offers several profile interviews with the nominees of the National Design Award 2024 – Communication Design: Anna Ulahelová (New Horizons category), Marcel Benčík (Space, Packaging and Object categories) and Juraj Behún (Packaging and Object category). The last in the series of interviews with designers is with Dodo Dobrík, the author of more than 600 book covers, but also the initiator of many social platforms. The interviews provide insight into designers' current work, but also into their unique approaches and thinking in the field of communication design.
