MIRIAMA SCHNIEREROVÁ | WILDFLOWER | 19. 8. 2021

Miriama Schniererová is a Slovak academic painter working in Bratislava. Her paintings are characterized by layering colours creating a relief into which she carves magical scenes in an abstract background. The subject of her works are figures, plant motifs or nostalgic places and landscapes. She is interested in the relationship between man and nature, his dependence on it, and the extent to which they can affect each other over time.

The Wildflower exhibition was created as a collaboration or rather a "game" between the author and her two-year-old son. This resulted in many spontaneous canvases, dominated by her son's drawing without any navigation. The charcoal and pastel drawings are complemented by coloured surfaces, transitions or structures created by the author which carry a story of their mutual connection. The name Wildflower is a metaphor for the author's son, a kind of unbridled power that the child possesses and with which he introduces elements of chance and instinct into the works. The paintings feature narrative scenes that are more readable to the viewer, but also a more abstract ones dominated more by the son's drawing and the author's gestural handwriting.

The opening also featured a dance and musical perfomance by unique electronic duo ELECTRIC SABINA.
