The Way

The work painted with acrylic on canvas comes from the I am, again series, in which the author reflects on her personal journey and transformation into a woman who loves herself. She seeks for answers through the specific spaces that she depicts in paintings, currently with softer colour combinations that refer to tenderness and self-acceptance as well as acceptance as such, to understanding and mild melancholy, which is, however, in a moment transformed into reconciliation. Tenderness, love, letting go of the past and finding the middle. A small creature appears on almost every format. The creature is author herself, determined to move from path to path, from trial to trial, from fall to growth. It's us, as each human experiences these emotions – and her way of processing them best is through painting. Natália Hulejová wants to show us that it works – that there is a way to work on yourself and get out of difficult situations. She still views this topic with hope and with the search for ways to induce a feeling of liberation, exhalation. Each painting was inspired by a different song by Willow from the 2019 album of the same name. On the back of the painting you will always find short words from the heart that describe the theme of the painting.
