MAREK ORMANDÍK | The Skulls and Bouquets | 18. 11. 2021
Marek Ormandík is a huge provocateur who unconventionally and boldly portrays classical themes, shatters myths and established iconography. These are not noble shapes and faces. With quick dynamic brush strokes on the canvas, he lightly sketches his passionate, schizophrenic split naked figures and heads. Not the detail, but the whole is important, the surface of the painting is eruptive, created by a dramatic, juicy handwriting, trembling lines, traces of flowing colors.
The Skulls and Bouquets exhibition brings a selection of Marek Ormandík's current work, especially head paintings from the Portrait of Death cycle and a series of non-figurative paintings called Bouquet. For the first time, the author's trip into applied art was also presented - a collection of the author's painted ceramics.
The musical guest of the opening was the exceptional musician and artist Oskar Rózsa.
